Debating Defiance
Organized by Professor Todd Comer (pictured right), this series includes panels of presenters who discuss current issues and get the audience involved too.

Travel Opportunities

Stratford Shakespeare Festival
The 9th annual trip to Stratford, Ontario, for Shakespearean theater is scheduled for September 13-14. The play? King Lear, with theater great Colm Feore in the title role. Students travel with faculty and staff to the Shakespeare festival for world-class theater in a European-style town which boasts wonderful food and great shops. The yearly trip is supported by the English Department and Composition Program. For more information contact Mary Catherine Harper, English Department professor.

Ann Arbor Film Festival
In March 2013 English Department professors Todd Comer and Mary Catherine Harper took students to Ann Arbor, Michigan, for the acclaimed annual international film festival, with its focus on experimental film. This trip was sponsored by the Defiance College Imagine Initiatives Program. Look for information on this year's Imagine Initiatives early in the fall semester.

"Go With Van Gogh" to Chicago
In 2010 faculty of Arts and Humanities and students traveled to Chicago to the Art Institute. After lunch in the city, the group spent a leisurely afternoon in the museum. This year Arts & Humanities professors are again planning to take students to the Chicago Art Institute. Look for information in the fall.
